Fezziwig's Marketplace - Purveyors of Fine Taste

About FEZZIWIG’S
FEZZIWIG’S opened in historic downtown Lebanon, Illinois on October 4, 2007.  Owners Ellen Leaf-Moore and her husband Tim Moore came from backgrounds in retailing and corporate marketing.  They moved to Lebanon late in 2002 with the hope of eventually having their own cottage business or boutique and that opportunity came in the spring of 2007.  FEZZIWIG’S is named for the character who was young Ebenezer Scrooge’s employer in Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.  Dickens stayed in Lebanon at the Mermaid House Inn in 1842 and wrote a chapter of his book American Notes about Lebanon.  The following year Dickens wrote his beloved A Christmas Carol.  Local folklore claims some of his inspiration for the story came from his stay in Lebanon.  Lebanon is the only town in Illinois in which he stayed overnight.

FEZZIWIG’S is like no other store in the St. Louis area!  The three 19th century storefronts are all adjoined.  The Marketplace sells exceptional pre-packaged gourmet foods including Stonewall Kitchen, Barefoot Contessa, and Robert Rothschild along with Bella Cucina, Clearbrook Farms and Bissingers just to name a few.  We also specialize in gift baskets, boxes and crates using foods, wines, teas and artisan cheeses from FEZZIWIG’S.

The Tea Emporium emphasizes one of the largest selections of loose leaf teas (nearly 100) where customers can sample select teas every day.  Also included is an extensive selection of tea accessories including tea pots, cozies and more!  Customers may enjoy their favorite tea by the fireplace in the Charles Dickens Room, in FEZZIWIG’S Courtyard, at the streetside tables on weekends, or simply ‘to-go’.

The Wine Merchantsne Merchants includes hundreds of select wines from around the world including America’s Pacific Coast, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Sicily, and others.  FEZZIWIG’S focuses on wines not typically found in supermarkets that are highly-rated and highly-regarded, yet great values.  Premium wine and cheese tasting events take place at least twice each month featuring new arrival wines to satisfy almost every palate.  Artisan Cheeses from around the world are also sold by the Wine Merchants to compliment the wine selection.  Special events also include FEZZIWIG’S School of Wine classes where students learn the nuances of wines and learn about food and cheese pairings.

Live at FEZZIWIG’S began in June of 2008 and has become a big hit on the St. Louis music scene!  The musical events began in the Courtyard and with the expansion of the Wine Merchants in October of 2008, the musical events moved indoors.  The events are suspended during the hectic Holiday season in November and December and return in February every year.  The musical genres are primary jazz and blues but occasionally Irish, pop and American standards are featured.  Seating is by guaranteed reservation only.

Private Events take place at FEZZIWIG’S, too.  Bridal and baby showers, private wine tasting groups, private tea parties, women’s groups and clubs, may take advantage of renting the Wine Merchant, Charles Dickens Room or Courtyard for private events on select evenings and weekends.  Let us customize a special event just for you!  Call Ellen at (618) 537-8422 for details.
